An 85ha site approved for a major Brisbane marina project has been listed for auction by LJ Hooker Commercial Brisbane. The new marina will be positioned on the Logan River on the midway corridor between Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
Situated adjacent to a Council planned tourism precinct at Loganholme in Brisbane’s southern suburbs, a total of 180 wet berths, fuel station and four sheds capable of housing a total of 2000 boats have been approved for the site, which enjoys more than 2400m of Logan River frontage.
Alongside land dedicated for zoological gardens within a Council Masterplan, the riverside parcel will be a focal point in the region’s drive to attract more of South East Queensland’s tourism sector. Other opportunities touted for the precinct include adventure and water sports.
LJ Hooker Commercial Brisbane Special Projects’ Gunter Noeth and Sales and Leasing Executive Nicole Plath have been engaged to market the site.
Mr Noeth said the land parcel – which has been operated for rural purposes – was also approved for significant commercial and recreational development to augment the tourism intention of the region.
“Its approval goes beyond storage and mooring for recreational boat owners and commercial operators, to include a restaurant and clubhouse facility and 10 shops, ’’ he said.
“South East Queensland is Australia’s recreational boating capital, and a major development such as this will cater to the tremendous demand for infrastructure for boating and the boating lifestyle.”
