Horizon City Marina is the first marina in Taiwan to be accredited under the Global Gold Anchor Scheme. The Scheme is a joint venture initiative of the Marina Industries Association (MIA) and The Yacht Harbour Association (TYHA). The modern Horizon City Marina is located in central Kaohsiung and is a 25 berth facility catering to boats from 12-60m. The marina provides a range of services and facilities for its customers including 3 Phase Power, fuel, security and video surveillance, restaurant and bar facilities.
At the presentation the MIA President and Chairman, Andrew Chapman CMM congratulated Horizon City Marina on its benchmark achievement for Taiwan. “The Scheme is designed to inform marina users as to the level of services and facilities at the marina and to encourage continual improvement within the marina industry. Horizon City Marina has a strong customer focus and is developing its facilities and continually improving its offer to boating customers. The marina is to be congratulated on attaining a rating of four Gold Anchors. As the first and only Global Gold Anchor marina in Taiwan this is a very significant achievement as the country looks to develop its marina infrastructure.”
Marina manager, Eve Kung said “an accredited marina is indicative of quality services and facilities which are key factors that contribute to people’s enjoyment of yachting. As the Taiwanese yacht market has bloomed in recent years, the demand for planned marinas has grown accordingly and Horizon City Marina is committed to setting a strong example of best practice in marina construction and management.”
MIA President Andrew Chapman CMM said this is an exciting day for the marina industry in Taiwan. “After two years of cooperative development the Global Gold Anchor Scheme is underway with a number of marinas newly accredited this month across Asia and Australia.”
